Besides the classic red map marker Google has introduced more colors like green for navigation and blue for user content on the Google maps web interface. I am still waiting for the day these icons conquer every day life public space.
Sometimes I find already tiny samples

  1. A long time ago I had the opportunity to see your great video on public art related to Google’s red map marker. Other kind of Icons are ‘conquering’ cities and towns around the world: the Green Map Icons. These tiny icons are guiding people to sustainable future. These icons are made by Green Map System.
