Expired
While googeling I stumbled across some old posts from kunst-blog.com
( a well known german art blog ). It seems like all ‘old’ posts don’t show any images by default. The text in the box says something like: “Due to copyright laws images may only be used for free for a short period during the time the event is taking place.” (My lawyer english is not very good.) Is this standard on the net and for blogs now? Do I have to erase images of art pieces I posted about a year ago? Hmm…
How about images disolving from your favorite printed magazin after a half a year? …

Hi Aram,
I´m sorry but I have to tell you that you can´t show these images after some time – at least if you get cought.
The organisation which looks after fine artist´s copyright (if they don´t do this by themselves) in Germany is “VG Bild-Kunst”. They “asked” us to remove all the images of other artist´s artwork after an artist who was badly reviewed complained about our use of images.
VG Bild-Kunst wouldn´t search for websites which show artwork – unless someone is asking them.

Yeh, I assumed you weren’t doing this for fun. Too bad, some artists just don’t get it … (for instance the Udo Lindenberg clan, omg) How will VG Bild act in the future? Probably they are already working on the algorithm.
Anyway, whats the work around? Asking each artist for permission? A lot of work. Creative Commons? Sure, but the VG people of course don’t use these license models.
How about a firefox plugin loading pictures from some piratebay server? :-) Nothing you would be responsable for.
Hey Tobi-x! http://tobi-x.com/ Stop showing around your fancy sun glasses in NYC, we need you for some serious Firefox plugin here!
