gmaps-new-dots
It looks like google maps has a serious disease. Swineflu maybe? Some days ago red dots (smallpox?) appeared in the (inter)face. Uhh … looks awful. Someone please call the doctor!

(Hey Google!! You can’t just change the interface without asking. What am I supposed to do with my “Map” installation now ???!! You already messed up the navigation cross a while ago!! OMG … HELP !!!)

It’s not a secret that intellectual property has a different status in chinese culture and it’s not a secret that copyrighted material is easyly available i.e. on the chinese youtube clone youku.com. But it is quite surprising that a big US company doesn”t mind to run ads for its own service in China on top of a copyright violated hollywood movie …. LOL
(We can learn a lot from chinese culture!)

Flat and Frozen

without comments

I took a walk on Times Square NYC but I couldn’t move my head and the cars and people seamed a bit flat ( hey @googleearth, where is the first person view – mouse look control option?).
Then I took a ride by car on Time Square again but got of course stuck in time-traffic jam. Everybody was frozen like in an “Improve Everywhere” performance. I wonder what the combination of those two with some game like controls and a pinch of photosynth could be … ?
(Not talking about real time locative microblogging streams and all that GPS devices out there …)

Google Car Berlin

And here is a picture of the Google Streetview car cruising in Berlin and rest of Germany (and Europe). Btw, I am still waiting for Miscrosoft going public with the praised Photosynth webservice. Just imagine it was possible to combine both of them…

(Google is so green! The Opel corsa consumes just 5,5 liter per 100 km, which is 43 mpg. Well, they just save money: 1,45 €/l in Germany equals 8,66 US$/gallon)

Nice Google Map marker in pixel style at RCA Show London. I wonder to what zoom level the pixel size is adjusted. Creator? See also my Map project.

Pic is taken from blackbeltjones.
Thanks for mentioning to me, Sascha.
