Urban Interfaces Berlin: Berliner Stimmen and Mitting
It is really nice to have Urban Interfaces right around the corner these days. Yesterday I joined Daniel Jolliffe on a tour of “Berliner Stimmen”. This project attracts quite some attention in the streets. Afterwards we had a beautiful wireless-headphone-group-experience taking part in Oliver Hangls “Mitting” performance in public space.

Bauwelt is the weekly german standard in architecture. Thanks to Matthias Böttger who wrote this article about the Transmediale07 talking about my piece “Random Screen” and the Second Life panel I was on.
More video documentations on Laboral: Gameworld, Feedback and Labcyberspace
Douglas Edric did a very nice job in video documenting the three exhibitions at Laboral: Gameworld, Feedback and Labcyberspace. His piece Invaders is a lot of fun to play.

“Mitting” performance by Oliver Hangl during Urban Interfaces Berlin
The ongoing Urban Interface exhibition in Berlin features some really nice public space pieces and performances. Tomorrow I will definately check out the Mitting performance by Oliver Hangl. I saw his talk at TESLA some days ago and his wireless headphone walk concept for 70 people seamed to be very promising. Who wants to join? By the way I like the name Mitting. A nice combination of Mitte and Wedding.
Thu, April 26, 6 pm Performance-tour Mitting, starting point: uib headquarters. Torstraße 161, Berlin-Mitte. The tour lasts 2-3 hours. the number of participants is limited to 70. Please bring your ID for deposit.

Continental Airlines headphone -> headset hack
Continetal Airlines provides these very high quality headphones on the airplane which have a really ugly dubble mono = stereo plug to prevent you to use these nice headphones somewhere else than in the airplane. But recently I found out that this dubble plug perfectly fits into my laptop headphone and microphone input. This turns the Continental Airlines headphones into a perfect high quality headset! You just have to abuse one of these small speakers as a microphone.
(Yes, I know you have to shout into that little speaker and the quality is really poor, but it does work!)
Illustrator Rinah Lang, web relaunch
Another good friend did relaunch her website www.signorinah.de today. Rinah Lang is an illustrator and has a very beautiful style. I love her stuff. If you need some professional illustrations just ask her. The website paper style is great, too.
“Double Room” by Susanne Schuricht
Susanne Schuricht, a good friend of mine is showing her new piece “Double Room” next week in a new gallery space “gillian morris” on Brunnenstrasse 3 , Berlin, opening 27.4.2007 18:00 h.
I am curious to experience this piece on privacy and intimacy in relation to public space.
Press: Another TV interview on Second Life
You may have noticed that I am working down a pile of press stuff. I hope it is not anoying to watch all these Second Life reports but this time I am showing the “First Person Shooter” glasses. The editor wanted me to take the counter part in the interview. The report is mainly about the Corecon Center run by Katja Schwab. The TV team ( three guys) from RBB had a lot of fun exploring the sex areas in Second Life. RBB “bizz” 26.2.07 ( german) , editor Jörg Oberwittler.
Tea candle lights rule!
“Energie ist mehr als Strom” – “Energy is more then electricity” a very nice candle stand by Bea Seggering. I saw this beautiful piece/product in action accros the street at cafe “Mörder” where all the neighbours and offices are hanging out during the day. Of course I am a big fan of tea candle lights.
